{"id":36340,"date":"2025-04-21T14:04:17","date_gmt":"2025-04-21T14:04:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jedfoundation.org\/?page_id=36340"},"modified":"2025-04-21T14:04:55","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T14:04:55","slug":"comprehensive-approach-statement","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jedfoundation.org\/comprehensive-approach-statement\/","title":{"rendered":"Comprehensive Approach Statement &#8211; The Jed Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(Last Modified: April 21, 2025)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Jed Foundation\u2019s Comprehensive Approach to Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (the \u201cComprehensive Approach\u201d) is an evidence-based framework designed to help schools and other youth-serving organizations strengthen their programs, policies, and systems to increase protections and reduce risk factors for all youth they serve.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In working with institutions on implementing the Comprehensive Approach, The Jed Foundation (\u201cJED\u201d) provides guidance to them and recommends customized supports for students and youth groups to assist them with the specific stressors and challenges they may encounter based on their\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">experiences and circumstances. This tailored approach is based on suicide prevention research that demonstrates the effectiveness of customized support strategies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">JED\u2019s goal is to prevent suicide and improve mental health outcomes for all youth. While JED may adjust focus to meet context and environment, nothing in the Comprehensive Approach or in JED\u2019s programs or recommendations suggests or should be interpreted as suggesting preferential treatment for any group of youth over another for any reason or on any basis.
